Army Green Bag

A pattern of a trendy bag that can hold all your things. It is an easy pattern with single crochet stitches and a two-row repeat raised shell stitch.

Materials
- 150 grams of worsted weight yarn
- H/8 or 5 mm hook
- a pair of scissors
- a tapestry needle

- The bag is crocheted from bottom to top.
Pattern
ch. 19
Round 1: 2 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 16 sc in the next 16 ch, 4 sc in the next ch, put a stitchmarker in between these 4 stitches, 16 sc in the next 16 ch, 2 sc in the first ch next to the beginning 2 sc. Put in a stitchmarker between the first 2 sc and the last 2 sc. Sl st in the first sc to close the round. (40 st)
Round 2: 2 sc in the 1st sc, sc in every stitch across, 2 sc in the stitch before the stitchmarker and 2 sc in the stitch after the stitchmarker. Put the stitchmarker in between these 4 sc. Sc in every stitch across, 2 sc in the stitch before the stitchmarker. Put the stitchmarker in between these last 2 sc and the first 2 sc. Close the round with a sl st
Round 3-11: repeat round 2. At the end of round 11 you should have a total of 84 stitches.

Round 12-15: 1 sc in every stitch, sl st in the first sc to close your round.

Round 16: ch 1 (doesn’t count as a stitch), dc in the first stitch, skip next sc, 3 dc in the next sc, *skip the next sc, dc in the next sc, skip next sc, 3 dc in the next sc*. Repeat between the * until the end of the round and close with a sl st in the first dc.
Round 17: ch 1 and turn your work. Sc in every stitch around, close the round with a sl st in the first sc. Sl st in the next sc.
Round 18: ch 1 and turn your work. *Work 3 fp tc in the first dc from round 16, dc in the sc right above the middle of the 3 dc of round 16*. Repeat between the * until the end of the round and close with a sl st in the first fp tc.

Repeat rounds 17 and 18 until your work measures about 11 inches.
Finish the bag with 4 rows of sc.
It’s time to make the strap. We use the thermal stitch from the honeycomb pillow cover to make it really strong. Ch 7 and follow the instructions of the honeycomb pattern on my blog.
Work the thermal stitch until the strap is 20 inches long. Or as long as you want it to be. Attach both ends of the strap to the bag with sc.
Finish off and weave in your ends.

And we’re done. Put your things in the bag and go shopping!
