Terms used/abbreviations

ch        chain
sc        single crochet
sc2tog single crochet 2 together

Special stitch

Single crochet 2 together:
Insert your hook in the first stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, insert your hook in the next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through all three loops on your hook. The next stitch starts in the same stitch as the stitch before, this way you don’t decrease.

Pattern

Start: Chain an uneven number.

If you want to work in width then you crochet 35 chains. If you want to work lengthwise, you crochet 200 chains.

Row 1: sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. Insert your hook in the same stitch and make a sc2tog in this stitch and in the next. Repeat making sc2tog until the end. Keep in mind that you start the next stitch in the same stitch as where you ended your last one.

Row 2: ch 1, turn your work. Sc in the first stitch, sc2tog starting in the same stitch and end in the next until the end of the row.

Repeat row 2 until you reach the height or the width you want.

Twisted fringe:
The right side is facing you. Attach your 2 yarns or pick just one if you prefer the fringe in just 1 color. Ch 1. Sl st in 1st sc. Draw up a loop 13.5″ [35 cm] long. Twist loop 30 times. Insert the hook in the same stitch and make a sl st. The fringe starts to twist around itself. Sl st in the next sc. Repeat making a fringe in every stitch until the end. Repeat this process at the other end.

Bind off and weave in your ends. Wrap your scarf around your neck and enjoy your time outside.
