Star Mandala

This time a quick and easy tutorial to make this beautiful star shaped mandala. You can use it as a decoration at home, as a coaster on the table for a candle or a plant or put it in a ring and hang it in the window or on the wall. Enough possibilities, I wonder where you would place this star.

Materials
- 25 grams of any yarn you like
- a hook size recommended by the yarn
- optional: a steel ring with a diameter of 12 inches or 30 cm.
- a pair of scissors
- a tapestry needle

ch2sp chain 2 space
ch5sp chain 5 space

Pattern
Ch 6 and close with a slst in the first ch to form a ring
Round 1: ch 1, 6 sc in the ring, close with a sl st in the first sc.
Round 2: ch 3, 2 dc in the first sc, ch 2, 3 dc in the next sc , ch 2, 3 dc in the next sc, ch 2. Repeat this until the end. Close with a sl in the first sc.
Round 3: turn your work and make a sl st in the ch2sp, turn your work back to the front. Ch 1, sc in the ch2sp, ch 1, (dc, ch 5, dc) in the middle dc, ch 1, sc in ch2sp, ch 1 (dc, ch 5, dc) in the middle of the next 3 dc. Repeat until the end, sl st in the first sc to close your round.
Round 4: sl st in the first ch5sp, *ch 3, (4dc, ch 3, 5 dc) in the same ch5spsc, (5 dc, ch 3, 5 dc) in every ch5sp around*. Repeat between the * to the end of the round and close with a sl st in the 3rd chain from the beginning chain 3.
Round 5: ch 1, sc in the 2nd and 3rd dc, ch 2, sc in the 5th dc, ch 3, sc in ch3sp, ch 3, close this ch 3 with a sl st in the 1st ch to make a little circle, ch 3, sc in 1st dc after the ch3sp, ch 2, sc in 3rd and 4th dc, ch 1. Repeat until the end of the round, sl st in the first sc to close the round.
Round 6: ch 1, sc in next sc, ch 5, dc in ch3sp, ch 7, skip the little circle, dc in ch3sp, ch 5, sc in 1st sc after the ch2sp, ch 3, skip 3 stitches (sc, ch1sp, sc) sc in the next, ch 3. Repeat this until the end. Sl st in the first sc to close the round.
Round 7: turn your work, sl st in the ch3sp, turn your work back to the front. Ch 1, sc in ch3sp, ch 1, 3 dc in ch5sp, ch 1, (5dc, ch 3, 5 dc) in the ch7sp, ch 1, 3 dc in ch5sp, ch1, sc in ch3sp, ch 1. Repeat this until the end. Sl st in the first sc.
Round 8: ch 1, sc in ch1sp, ch 2, sc in the middle of the 3 dc, ch 3, sc in the middle of the 5 dc, ch 3, sc in the last of the 5 dc, ch 3, sc in ch3sp, ch 3, sl st in the first of the 3 chains to make a little circle (just like you did in round 5) ch 3, sc in the first of the 5 dc, ch 3, sc in the middle of the 5 dc, ch 3, sc in ch1sp, ch 2, sc in the middle of the 3 dc, ch 2, sc in ch1sp, sc in next ch1sp, ch 2. Repeat until the end of the round Close with a sl st in the first sc to close the round.
