- ch chain
- ch3sp chain 3 space

- dc double crochet
- cr tc crossed triple crochet

Special stitches

Crossed Triple crochet (cr tc)
Yarn over twice and skip the first group of dc, insert your hook into the space between the groups of dc (at the red arrow you see in the chart) and yarn over and pull up a loop. You have 4 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through two loops then yarn over and pull through the last two loops.
Ch 1. Yarn over two more times, then you go behind the tc from front to back through the space between the first 3 and the last 3 dc. Yarn over and pull through. Finish your tc like normal.
Pattern

Start: Ch in multiples of 3. Make a chain that is as long as your arms spread. For me that is about 60”. Make sure your chain isn’t twisted and close the chain with a sl st.
Round 1: sc in the first ch. Ch3, skip 2 stitches. *Sc in the next stitch, ch3, skip 2 stitches.* Repeat between the * until the end of the round. Sl st in the first sc of the round to close the round.
Round 2: Sl st in the first ch3sp and ch3. Work 2dc in the same ch3sp. Work 3dc in each ch3sp until the end of the round. Close the round with a sl st in the 3rd ch from the beginning ch3.
Round 3: cr tc between the groups of dc (see the explanation for special stitches). Close the round with a sl st in the first stitch.
Round 4: ch1, sc in the space before the first cr tc. Ch3, skip 2 stitches, *sc in next space between cr tc. Ch3, skip 2 stitches*. Repeat between the * until the end of the round. Close the round with a sl st in the first sc.
Repeat rounds 2-4 until your work measures about 10”. End with a round 2.
To make a nice finish, work round 4 on top of the last round.
Bind off and weave in your ends. Wrap your cowl around your neck and enjoy your time outside.
