This time a quick and easy tutorial to make this beautiful flower shaped mandala.

Materials

– 25 grams of any yarn you like

– a hook size recommended by the yarn

– optional: a steel ring with a diameter of 12 inches or 30 cm.

– a pair of scissors

– a tapestry needle

Pattern


Start with a magic ring

Round 1: ch 1, 8 sc in the ring, close with a sl st in the first sc.

Round 2: ch 1, sc in first sc, ch 5, sc in next sc, ch 5. Repeat this until the end. Close with a sl in the first sc.

Round 3: 2 sl st in ch5sp, sc in ch5sp, ch 5, sc in next ch5sp, ch 5. Repeat until the end, sl st in the first sc to close your round.

Round 4: sl st in the first ch5sp, ch 3, dc2tog in in same ch5sp, ch 5, dc3tog in the same ch5sp, ch 1, (dc3tog, ch 5, dc3tog) in next ch5sp, ch 1. Repeat until the end. Close the round with a sl st in the 3rd chain from the beginning ch 3.

Round 5: turn your work, sl st in ch1sp, turn your work back. Sc in the ch1sp, ch 5, sc in ch5sp, ch 7, close with a sl st in the first chain of this 7 to create a circle, ch 5, sc in ch1sp, ch 5, sc in ch5sp, ch 7 close with a sl st in the first ch to close the circle, ch 5, sc in ch1sp, ch 5. Repeat until the end of the round, sl st in the first sc to close the round.

Round 6: 2 sl st in ch5sp, sc in ch5sp, 11 dc in ch7sp, sc in ch5sp, ch 3, sc in next ch5sp, 11 dc in ch7sp, sc in ch5sp, ch 3. Repeat this until the end. Sl st in the first sc to close the round.

Round 7: ch 1, sc in the first sc, *ch 3, sc in the 3rd dc, ch 3, sc in the 6th dc, ch 3, sc in the 9th dc, ch 3, sc in sc, ch 2, sc in next sc*. Repeat between the * until the end. Sl st in the first sc to close the round.

Round 8: ch 1, *3 sc in the first ch3sp, sc in the sc, ch 3, close with a sl st in the first ch to create a circle, 3 sc in the next ch3sp, sc in the sc, ch 3, close with a sl st in the first ch to create a circle, 3 sc in the next ch3sp, sc in the sc, ch 3, close with a sl st in the first ch to create a circle, 3 sc in the last ch3sp, sc around the ch3 and the ch2 to connect those two*. Repeat between the * until the end. Sl st in the first sc to close the round.
