Valentine’s Day Door Hanger

Valentine’s Day is coming up again, so it’s time for a project full of love. Here is a pattern for a romantic door hanger with hearts and beads.

Materials
- Scraps of cotton yarn (sport weight yarn)
- C/2 or 3 mm hook
- Beads to decorate the hanger
- Scraps or fiberfill for filling
- a pair of scissors
- a tapestry needle

ch chain
sc single crochet
sl st slip stitch
sc2tog single crochet 2 together
Notes
This pattern is written in US terms.
Don’t close your rounds, just keep working.
Pattern
Round 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from the hook or start with a magic ring, ch 1 and make 6 sc in the ring (6).
Round 2: 2 sc in every stitch around (12).
Round 3: sc in the first stitch, 2 sc in the next, repeat this all the way around (18).
Round 4: sc in every stitch around (18).
Bind off and weave in your ends.
Repeat rounds 1-4 to make another one. Keep your yarn attached to this one, we now connect the two pieces.
Round 5: Therefore sc in the next 16 stitches, slip stitch the next 2 stitches together with two stitches of the other piece (See picture).

Now make 16 sc around the stitches on the other piece. We now have connected both pieces (32).

Round 6: sc in every stitch around (32).
It is time to decrease to create the point of the heart.
Round 7: sc in the next 6 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 12 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 6 stitches (28).
Round 8: sc in the next 5 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 10 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 5 stitches (24).
Round 9: sc in the next 4 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 8 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 4 stitches (20).
Round 10: sc in the next 3 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 6 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 3 stitches (16).
Round 11: sc in the next 2 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 4 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 2 stitches (12).
Time to stuff the heart with the filling, continue stuffing as you go.
Round 12: sc in the next stitch, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next 2 stitches, sc2tog 2 times, sc in the next stitch (8).
Round 13: sc2tog 4 times as your last round.
Bind off and leave a 7 inch tail. Make 2 more hearts.
Connect the hearts with the tails from the hearts by sewing them together. Watch the YouTube video to see how I did that. Attach your beads where you like them and your hanger is done.
Give the hanger to a very special person or give it a nice place in your own house.
