Pattern
Row 1: in color A. Start with a sc foundation chain in multiples of 8 for the width that you want. My project is 41 cm/16” wide so I made my foundation chain this length. If you want to learn how to make a single crochet foundation chain then you can click on this link https://2loopz.com/how-to-make-a-single-crochet-foundation-chain/
If you are new to crochet or just don’t like to start with a foundation chain, then you can make a normal chain and work a row of sc on top and start row 2 from there. Cut your yarn and bind off a the end of the row.
If you want to work in the round then start with a chain for the length you need in multiples of 8 plus 3 and work sc around starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, making 3 sc in the first and in the last stitch. Make sure that you have a multiple of 8 stitches after the first round. You still change color every round but you don’t have to cut at the end of every row. You can leave it attached and drag it along the side.
Row 2: start at the beginning of the row in color B. Don’t turn your work. Ch 1, *sc blo in the first 3 stitches, drop down dc in the next stitch, sc blo in the next 7 stitches, drop down dc in the next, sc blo in the next 7 stitches, drop down dc in the next*. Repeat between the * until the end of the row. Cut your yarn and bind off. You cut and bind off every row and start the new row in a new color on the beginning of the row.
Row 3: color A, ch 1, * sc in the blo of the first stitch, drop down dc in the next stitch, sc blo in the next 7*. Repeat until the end of the row.
Row 4: color B, ch 1, *sc blo in the first 5 stitches, drop down dc in the next stitch, sc blo in the next 7 stitches, drop down dc in the next*. Repeat until the end of the row.
Row 5: color A, ch 1, * sc blo in the first 3 stitches, drop down dc in the next*. Repeat between the * until the end.
Row 6: color B, ch 1, *sc blo in the next 7 stitches, drop down dc in the next stitch, sc blo in the next 7, drop down dc in the next*. Repeat until the end.
Row 7: color A, ch 1, *sc blo in the first 5 stitches, drop down dc in the next stitch, sc blo in the next 7 stitches, drop down dc in the next*. Repeat until the end of the row.
Row 8: color B, ch 1, * sc in the blo of the first stitch, drop down dc in the next stitch, sc blo in the next 7*. Repeat until the end of the row.
Repeat rows 1-8 until the work is the height you prefer. Weave in all of your ends.
Enjoy crocheting!!
